Spirit Contacting

Well, I have been out in Romania long enough to understand swear words, and man they are getting flung around in this internet cafe.  Everyone here is having a hard day at the World of War Craft ring... I also have been out here long enough to flinch from hearing them.  Oh the guy next to me is thrashing his keyboard with his fist in frustration. I am not a supporter of the video game addiction. Oh well, the e-mail must go on!!

This week was filled with miracles as always. This week I would like to call it the spirit contacting week.  As missionaries here we come up with many... creative ways of contacting, mostly the sisters do the following as the Elders, well if they were giving flowers to girls on the street it wouldn't end well.  Flower contacting, bloc knocking, English contacting, Chalk contacting, and much much more!!! As we tried to figure out what we could do to contact here in Arad and battle the heat we are losing the more creative options to to the incredible amount of heat, also called Dragons Breath by some here in Arad.  So this week Spirit Contacting it was.

At the start of this transfer we were contacting for our English class and we ran into this really cute girl on the street and invited her to come.  At the idea of a class she was overjoyed!! But then she discovered the location was to far away from her home and she said she couldn't come.  We offered to tutor here alone and at the end offer a spiritual thought.  She seemed reluctant but decided to take our number and give us a call if she was interested.  This week she called us!! And we set up the lesson.  After an awesome English lesson we said a prayer with her and she already knew how to pray, which is really rare here in Romania as most people, 90% or something say memorized prayers.  As we talked with her we tried to ask her  questions we felt the spirit wanted us to say.  This time our question was "why did you decide to go to  Portugal?" As she answered the question she told the story of her goals and aspirations and all of what she said she did she wanted to be number one guided through prayer to know what to do. She said she prayed and knew she needed to go to Portugal.  But if she went there for this program she needed to learn English and she had no idea how she was going to do that, so she prayed for an English class.  The next day she met us on the street and knew we were an answer to her prayers.  But she heard it was to far away and that we teach a spiritual thought and she wasn't sure about it so she prayed again and she felt that she needed to meet with us and to listen to our message.  As she told us this I felt in my heart that she is one of the people here in Arad that Sora Dupont and I are meant to find.

Then we had another instance on a tramvai where we were getting off and this woman stopped us and said, do you have a minute to sit down and talk with me about what you believe? So we sat with her and she explain she was Jehovah's Witness and she asked really hard questions and the spirit put really good answers in my mouth and let me say them.  One of them was, at the verse of Matthew 29:19 (or something) she recites it perfectly in Romanian,
19 ¶Go ye therefore, and teach all nationsbaptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost
"what does that mean to you and your church?" And I just go off, "It is interesting that these are the last words of Christ before he leaves.  It is why we are hear in Romania to teach about the gospel.  It is even more interesting to look and see what he did after he left Jerusalem.  This BOok of Mormon is a ..." It was awesome! At the end she was so touched by the testimony that we shared of the Book of Mormon she said she would read it and we are meeting with her again.  Then her English speaking friend from Romania who is investigating the Jehovah Witness church came up and was like, "do you have an English copy for me?" So she will be our new investigator starting tomorrow when we met up with her.

This week, Spirit contacting, it is a thing.  The people who are prepared are coming forward throughout the world!! I love it! This really is the best time to be on a mission.
